I searched a couple forums and fount that the 2g trannys have more mounts than 1g's but i want to know if a manual tranny from a 2g would bolt up in my 94 eclipse(gs). Mines started whining loud and want to replace it before it goes

Alright I've read a couple like this but they all were for awd, that's why i was askin to see if anyone had done it in a fwd specifically

As well, it will be substantially cheaper to use a 1G trans, and will have the proper speedometer cable assembly installed.

Just pick up a 1G turbo FWD transmission, clutch, flywheel and starter for good measure, as I am not familiar with the 1G FWD Non-turbo transmissions or what their part numbers are. I am guessing that your transmission is a F5M22-2-VPZV stamped on the bellhousing.

F5M22-2-VPZV (D22A)

Current gear ratio:
1st: 3.363
2nd: 1.947
3rd: 1.285
4th: 0.939
5th: 0.756
rev: 3.083

Speedometer gear ratio: 29/36
Final Drive gear ratio: 4.322

If this is the case, then if you wanted to run a 1G turbo FWD transmission, here is the data for that:

F5M33-2-SPZV (D22A)

1st: 3.090
2nd: 1.833
3rd: 1.217
4th: 0.888
5th: 0.741
rev: 3.166

The speedo gear is the same ratio.
The final drive ratio is 4.153.

The 91-94 FWD turbo transmissions are all interchangable for your application.
