Tranny swap, now linkage wont work?

I swapped a 23spline awd tranny for another one just like it. the shifter linkage bracket is the same and everything is the same...but now for some reason the linkage wont let the shifter move over to where first and second gear are. I don't know what is wrong and I can't figure it out. My car is sitting at the shop right now and I don't wanna keep payin to keep it there. Someone please help, is this a common problem when people do transmission swaps? Thanks in advance...I need help asap...gotta go back in the morning to try and fix it....if i can

PS i tried flipping around the bracket that holds the linkage...that didnt work either, made it worse.

Do you know if the tranny you installed is good? Turn the crank over a few times and then see if you can go through the gears.

I cant get it to go threw the gears with the linkage hooked up. it goes in all the gears when i do it by hand at the transmission tho.

Next step is to try to swap shifter cables. Or, leave the cables off the tranny, and have someone go thru the gears. See if the cables move freely.
