tranny problem

ok i just bought a 91 talon tsi 3 days ago and it needed a tcu the cap leaked out and got all over the board so i went out to a junk yard and found on off an 92 laser 4g63 n/t and i put it in now the tranny shift hard from time to time so did i get a bad one or do i have another problem??

Not sure if those TCU's are compatable, but if they were the same plug they may be. Can't say for sure.

Shifting hard as in it slamming into the next higher gear at WOT?

it shifts hard both up and down

supposedly the turbo and non turbo transmissions have different gear ratios.
that would give you different shift points, at different speeds.
someone correct me if i'm wrong!

ok i looked at my tranny fluid and it was clear with a tiny hit of red???
