I was running straight penzoil syncromesh before I swapped over to an ACT 2600/Streetlite flywheel. After the install I could only find (in my area) one bottle of syncromesh. I used .5 quart of the Lucas gear stuff, and a quart of redline syn. fluid.

Now the tranny feels alot notchier (sp?). First is sometimes hard to go into, and now it seems no matter what it grinds EVERY time going into reverse. Before I could double clutch it or just wait a few secs before putting in reverse and it wouldn't make a noise. No matter what I do now, it's a pretty bad grind.

Either way I'm gonna dump this stuff and run straight syncromesh again. I don't know if it's the fluid, I was wondering if different tranny fluid had that big of an effect in our cars.

My experience was the same as yours. I tried BG Synchroshift, and my tranny became very notchy, hard to get into 1st/2nd/reverse, etc. I then went to GM/Pennzoil Synchromesh and all the problems went away.

I'm using BG Synchroshift now and I find my car shifted better with Redline MTL. BG Synchroshift isn't worth the money :thumbdown .
