Tranny drain bolt head stripped. NEED thread size!!!! ASAP Please!

Wow, I am really tired. I STILL didn't get that damn transmission drain bolt out. Who ever tightened it must have used an impact wrench. Idiots!!!

Anyways I need the thread size for that drain bolt on the transmission. Its on a 93 Eagle Talon TSi AWD 5-Speed manual transmission.

SOMEBODY please help me!!! I am going to remove it tomorrow and I need a drain bolt to put back in there. I called the dealer and no thread size. If they ordered it it wouldn't be in untill NEXT wednesday!!! HELP!!!! Thank you very much

I wish I had thought of taking it out jsut to check and see that it was loose before I put the pan in.
Any one know how to say "don't overtighten oil drain pan plugs you idiots" in Chinese?

If it doesn't come out it is going to suck...

I have never had a drain plug round off before but I've come across many rounded off bolts. As a LAST RESORT I weld a nut onto the bolt head. You just have to make sure that your weld is low enough on the nut that you can still get a wrench on it. Usually the heat from the welder will make the stuck bolt come loose so it just spins out easily.

NEVER overtighten the plug or filter.

Yea but make sure you don't leave it too loose either. Motors don't like running w/o oil. My car is down now because my oil plug managed to fall out somehow, 1500 miles after I changed the oil. Good Luck!

Use paint thinner to remove the paint that is holding it. Or even paint stripper! that shit is caustic though like oven cleaner.

Seriously, remove the paint, then try it again.
