Do a search. There was a thread EXACTLY on this subject about a week or so ago with several good methods.

ok i think that bolt is 17mm take a 17 mm or a 16mm 12 point socket and hammer it on there and i mean hammer it all the way down on it then try to loosing it slowly dont try to get it off real fast as soon as it start moving just bak it all the way out. if that doesnt work that sell this sockets for bolts like that it has like thses kinda of teeth on the insides of the socket. but good luck with it.

I don't know if they come that big, but you could try getting a bolt extractor from a hardware store or Sears or some place like that. that's why you can't overtighten bolts that go into aluminum, the threads are probably deformed/stretched.

This is the best thing you can do, it happened to a friend of mine and we got it off like this.

actually I think the tranny drain plug is like a 24mm on a 2g. Just tack weld an old socket to the plug and get it off that way if you must. Be sure to have a replacement plug though before you do this.

That one's a bi***, because not only is it huge, but the head's so thin- about 1/8"-that there's not much to get hold of.
If you have an air compressor, get a spare drain plug, and use the punch bit from a pneumatic hammer to chase out the old plug. Harbor Freight and similar import tool shops have hammers for $20 or less. You'll need the spare plug because the old one is going to get chewed.
Make sure you remove the fill plug before the drain. It may be stuck, too.
Plugs like this seize because of the dissimilar metals, and tend to drive themselves in during heat cycles and from vibration.
You also may be able to use an oil siphon to pull the old gear lube out if you can't budge the drain. Gearbox lube won't mind if you don't get every last bit changed out.

I have to bring this thread back. Im having the same problem. Except, unlike alot of you lucky guys with this easy acess set-up:

I have this:

AHHHH, see what I mean. Now the pic OF THE BOLT wont work because its name. Ill let you fill in the "#" to see it

You cant get a socket on their due to the sub-frame bring inches from it. So a screw extractor and regular stripped-socket remover wont work. I tryed the box end of the wrench for more grip but just keep slipping due to that slight bend they have. Also the bolt is a 15/16. 24mm is way too big. 23mm is too small. 15/16 is even a little loose.

But thats useless info now. Because the heads gone, tried to use maximum torque methods to get it off to no avail.

So im wondering what else can I do to change the fluid considering the drains gone???

Would a syphon from the fill work? My question on this is the metal shavings. Wont the syphoning leave all the shavings in their? Has anyone even tried this?? How will I know the hose is in the right spot??

OR, Could I seperate the housing? Or would that have the possiblity of damage?

[rant]Everything this car could possible screw me on it does! the simplist things! EVERYTHING it can do to F with me it does. ERRRRRRRRRRR:mad: [/rant]
