Wow, do I have one for you.

You ever have that personal debate that just turns stupid ugly? Well just a few hours ago I did. Uglier then any debate I had in a GREAT while.

I was doing some work on the FOB for an exercise and I got done early. I saw another one of my company vans so I asked the driver SGT Joe if I could get a ride back with them. He said sure. I peek in and see another female SGT Jane and one SPC already in the van. Me and my subordinate jump in. Both of us are SPC. (For explanation sake, SGT is one grade above SPC, but is the next tier up).

Some how on the way back to the barracks the conversation of cars come up. Now let me prefix this by saying I let alot of BS go, but you don't BS me in computers and you SURE as hell don't BS me with cars. Anyway, SGT Joe jumps in by saying his sister used to have a 79 Mustang. Things just went downhill from there. He told me he stacked the turbos. I immediately went WTF. Then he told me he had cut and put blowers on each runner? I asked him what the crap he was talking about. And I asked him how the hell he put blowers on each runner. So I gave a way out by saying, "Ok, alot of jargin varies from tuner to tuner. What you may say is a turbo is actually a Tornado. Then out of nowhere he goes in his hickish voice:

"I dun't know about that, but I do know that car did 0-279 MPH 'bout 6 secunds!"

At this point I was laughing hysterically. I looked at the two SPC next to me and they were shaking their heads. Which only made me laugh harder....ok no more ways out, it's time to fly the BS flag. Under my laughter I murmured:

"Thats faster then a jet plane accelerates."
He replies "Are you a mechanic?"
I stop laughing "I was building my own rally car when I got called up" (This is actually true, a small league, but a rally league none the less)
"Well what are you doing to it?"
"You want me to list everything I plan to do to it?"
"Yeaah!"
"Ok, where do I start: Ross pistons, Pauter rods, balanced crankshaft, Ferrea valves, BC 272 cams (actually will go with 264 probably), BC valve springs...

At this point SGT Jane who is all over SGT Joes nuts interrupts me and says "UUUUgh, you're so annoying"
I ignore her and continue my list.

"...3g lifters, on to the turbo 18g-6SL2 turbo, I already have a tubular 02 housing with external TAiL 38mm wastegate"

Now this is where it gets REALLY ugly. I am one that demands respect regardless or rank. You do not talk down to me UNLESS I deserve it (EI: showing up late, not doing my work, etc. but that doesn't happen with me anymore...used to when I was a private but not now). Anyway on to the ugliness.

SGT Jane goes "Bzzzzz" (indicated to shut up)
(SGT Joe italicized, Me plain text)
Hey SGT Jane told you to be quiet!
No she said "Bzzzz," that is not asking me to be quiet.
Now, I'm telling you to SHUT UP
Negative, SGT, you are not pulling rank on me on this one.
Hey, you want to get into this with me? We asked you politely to be quiet, now SHUT UP!!!
No, you didn't!!! You said "shut up" and said "Bzzzzzz" That is NOT asking me politely!!!
WELL I'M ORDERING YOU: SHUT THE F*CK UP RIGHT F*CKING NOW!!!!!!!!
I don't think so, you are NOT going to pull rank on me over a personal debate. I didn't let this sh*t fly in 6 years of active duty. It is NOT going to fly HERE!!!!
THAT'S IT WE ARE GOING TO SEE THE MAN WHEN WE GET BACK
What are you going to do recommend me for a Article 15?
**side note: an Article 15 is the first step for judicial punishment. If you accept it (basically a guilty plea) it usually results in loss of pay, extra duty, loss of rank. In the most SEVERE cases discharge from the military and/or jail time. Accepting it is usually the easy way out as the punishment isn't as harsh. In you deny it, you will be Court Martialed; a legal court system for the military. Most cases at this point you, if you are still found guilty you most certainly will lose rank, pay, and get extra duty, do jail time and then get kicked out the Army**
YEA!!! I'M RECOMMENDING YOU AN ARTICLE 15 FOR INSUBORDINATION
YOU CAN'T PULL RANK ON A PERSONAL MATTER!!!!
At this point SGT Jane had enough yelling.

So she said "Please, lets just calm down..."
I responded in a calm voice "Roger, SGT. Thank you for being respectful.
She looked at me pissed off as if she thought I was being sarcastic. So I responded, "That was not sarcasm I was being genuine." She said "I don't care, just please be quiet." Even though her tone was full of sarcasm and disrespect, I decided to be the bigger man and let it go.

When we get to the barracks the Battalion Legal rep is at the local smoke spot. So I break out a smoke and tell him that I was getting recommended for an Article 15. This sparked his interest since it's juicy gossip and he has to do the paper work for it. So I summed the story for him and then asked him if I could be recommended for an Article 15 he nods yes. I then asked if it would fly he goes :toobad:. So I ask him if in return I could get him for Conduct unbecoming of an NCO he said no, but it would fall under Maltreatment of a junior enlisted and he would get in trouble for a) trying pull rank in a execution of an unlawful order and b) profanity towards a junior enlisted in execution of a unlawful order.

I told my OIC the news and I actually go reemed for it, but I didn't care. He did have some valid points. Like "we are going to deploy and stress levels are going to go up 10 levels. You have to learn to walk away from these things. Don't let these things distract you from the mission" Valid point, but I will not be disrespected regardless of rank. I will be respected AT LEAST as a human being.

0-279 in only 6? soo slow my 16 turbos get me to like 300 in 4 secs flat :p. I'm the same way, I demand that I be treated respectfully by everyone be it a professor a manager at work etc. It may make things worse, but theres nothing like the feeling you get when you stand up to an authority when you know your right.

Yea I put a supercharger on each runner of the header on my gst. (spits into tin dip jar). There are so many BSers in the service its not even funny. There have been many times when I just kind of shot the look and then just shook my head.

hahahahahaha, you should tell him a rabbit is faster in acceleration then his mustang
