ok first off i love 240sx's ("silvias" sr20det's). my last car was a 240sx with a silvia front end (sold it for 7,500) and got my eclipse... Now im thinking of trading my eclipse gst for this 240sx. The bad on the car is the body it has that ### evader hood (fake carbon fiber) red front bumper and the body is the ugly gray. but it comes hooked up! i want to know what you guys think befor i trade because i will have to give him my subbs or 200 more dollars to pick it up.

90 nissan 240sx trade w/ rebuild sr20det

it also has hks fuel regulator hks boost regulator and poly motor mounts.

the thing that is skeptical is when i test drove it the guy just couldnt drive it slow or baby it at all he was chirpin the tires into 3rd and the engine has less than 1000 on the rebuild:notgood:

If the guys beating the shit out of it on a test drive, definitly look for a different car. You dont want a car thats been beat to shit.

it has the s15 big t28 and it comes with alot of spareparts exhasut manifold , another turbo, another ecm, but yeah thats what is stopping me is he is raping the sh-it out of it

The sr20 240s are cool! something sounds skeptical as you were saying about his driving habits as well as there are some things you dont like about the car. I maybe wouldnt buy that particular one and shop around for the "right" one. I personally would keep your GST as long as its in good running/body condition and mod that! You already know what you have and maybe arent sure what you may getting

Does he have proof of the rebuild?? If not then id pass it up because if he's beating the crap out of it you better have proof it was rebuilt or the damn thing may blow up on you driving it home.Did you check the turbo for shaft play at all? Did you ask what kind of oil he is running? How long has he had the car?Who did the work on it? You gotta make sure he can prove its worth what he's asking for and you gotta determine if he was even really using the right stuff and taking care of it cause if he doesn't have proof of anything or was using cheap sh*t your better off walking away then buying a pos

if hes raping the shit out of it on the test drive, makes you think what he did while he had it. wait a bit its a buyers market. I got my 90 gsx with 110 on the od for $500 non running and a set of stock aluminum rims in factory boxes brand new for it for $75 so deals are out there good luck man

well after about two hours of going over the car at a local nissan dealer for inspection and everything checks out! straight from where the motor came from well i think i got a steal but the body needs some love. pics of it up tomorrow.

Coming from someone who has more than a couple cars blow up after buying them, its great that you got it checked out by a dealer.
But it seems like a decent trade.
any reasons why you would want to drop your gst?

i got rid of my gst because of the fwd factor. i want to get an awd and no one would trade an awd for front wheel so i thought why not just get another 240sx i love the cars and i always wanted to drift a little. and i thought if i want another dsm someone will trade me for this 240.

RWD is more fun than awd or fwd in my opinion.

I like the awd on my truck, and I like the awd of the new Evo's, but I'm not a fan of the awd system in DSM's. Chirping the tires with an awd can put you dangerously close to some expensive repairs, you can do it in a rwd just by rolling into the throttle.

I gotta disagree with you Mavisky. I like the AWD systems we have just as much as any other, the difference is the amount of power it takes to make em chirp. Also repair cost from frying tires on a RWD can be costly too.

i do not feel like a ricer thats for sure. well i have no more eclipse.

my 240 would dust my eclipse any day

I spy an XS Power manifold. That now put's all the other parts into question. I doubt he stopped with the manifold and picked up an XS Power turbo too, we all know how this story ends.

240's aren't meant for speed, not to mention you had to put a different engine in there to accomplish this, combine that with your old dsm being FWD and stock, and that isn't really a shocker.

I noticed that as well. I hope for the OP's sake he did stop at the manifold and didn't order everything off of ebay.
