TPS spring loose

Someone just gave me a used OEM TPS since mine is on it's way out. When I tap the back of it I can hear the spring. The spring looks tight, but that doesn't mean anything. I have an old broken tps that doesn't make any noise. Before I go through the PITA of swapping and recalibrating this tps, does anyone know if this is normal?

Update: to answer my own question, no it does not make a difference. New tps works fine.

what is a tps? tire pressure sensor?

A tps is Throttle Position Sensor. TPMS is Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor in which is not on our cars.
