Didnt know where to put this.

Am i able to tow this car with a dolly? Will it be to low and scrape the ground? Want to tow with an 03 trailblazer.

Depends how low your front bumper/car is. I did it on my 98 Gst, It was very close and just hitting the dolly and taking it off ripped the bumper off because it got caught on something. :ohdamn: The second time taking it off i watched it very closely while i had someone drive it off very slowly and moved the bumper out of the way of where it got hooked on and it worked fine. It worked but whatever you do just be careful and watch closely. :thumb:

BTW that's with stock height. You could do what he said and take off the bumper. That's what i would do if i had the time. As for the back scraping on the road you should be fine.

Not lowered at all. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks

Are you towing the car because it does not run? I had a bad experience with towing like that. Hit a pothole, more like a canyon, long story short I was bit unhappy with the result. From then on, the flatbed was my best friend :)

I wish I had a truck and dolly when I bought my 1G FWD... It also had trans issues. But for whatever reason the clutch wouldn't disengage... So I decided what the hell, my friends house is only about a mile and a half away and the car is only $400. Bought the car right then and there. Started it. Rammed it into reverse while holding it at 6KRPM and it flew backward toward the street. I slam on the brakes, yank it outta reverse and force it into first with so much conviction a judge would look indecisive.

And away I went. Stripping gears down the street to my friends house in my first DSM. <3:thumb:

*it was very difficult to stop the car without killing it. Left hand turns usually were circumvented by taking a right and going around the intersection and using parking lots to drive around in circles while I attempted to time the lights.

Just be extra careful that's all. I tore my exhaust and bumper off. I didn't realize it at first until I seen the sparks flying from behind me.

another thing when towing is to stop and check the straps a few miles after beginning your journey. If the car is going to wiggle around and settle it will in this short time always double check. If you never had a vehicle come off I can tell you it's not pretty or easy to get off the dolly when the front wheels come off the front of the dolly and it's high centered.

That made me laugh, something I would do :hellyeah:

But to the OP you could always buy some cheap hardware store lumber if its close on clearance

I tried to tow my gst home on a dolly when I first purchased it . ( bad idea ) to low a 2 inch drop all around and a dolly don't mix . I had to pick up a flat bed trailer to bring it home because the exhaust scraped every time I hit a bump in the road . It can be done but may result in damage to your exhaust if you car is to low for the dolly . I always go flat bed much safer just IMO

make sure your wheels are strapped tight because I towed mine on a flat bed from uhaul and when I got home, i realized that both straps had came off. the only thing that helped me was the dip on the bed. My front bumper was off as well.

Made it home and all went well, now to the diagnosing.
