hey guys a few weeks agoo I removed the restrictor in the wgs. ever since then I have had a issue with maintaining boost. I used to be able to hit about 14psi in first through third gear but then it started to spike to higher psi's. so I figured my t25 was shot. so I threw my 14b on it and same so far ive only let it hit 15 psi and that's at barely half throttle I haven't thrown my mbc at it yet cause I don't kn ow if that would help. oh by he way car is a 96 talon tsi fwd

ok so im running the vacuum line from the boost source(licp) to the wastegate and still getting to much boost round 15-18ish.... im gonna throw my boost controller on it this weekend but why is it that with the lin es routed how they should be stock am i getting to much boost ?

Because you swapped to a 14b it is possible you're running into a think called boost creep. Very common with that style of turbo. Are you running any less boost then before when you have the lines hooked up wrong? My buddy threw a boost controler on his when he was having this problem and allowed him to not hit boost cut.

hooked up wategate to boost source and a line tee'ed in to the wgs on the lower port and the upper port of wgs goes to intake
I *think* you may have the vacuum lines on the boost control solenoid backwards...otherwise everything you've stated here is the correct way for the lines to be run:

If that's the case, it would explain why you have no control of boost whatsoever. Another possibility is a seized solenoid which isn't throwing a check engine light.

The concept here is that the boost control solenoid bleeds pressure in the vacuum line as needed to raise the boost level. The less pressure that reaches the actuator, the longer it stays closed and the higher your boost level will be. This also allows the actuator to snap closed quicker between shifts instead of remaining open from residual pressure left in the line, allowing for quicker transient boost response....much like a "bleeder-style" MBC works. If the BCS solenoid is closed, any existing boost pressure remains trapped in the line unless it's tee'd into the boost source like that.

The lower nipple doesn't necessarily HAVE to be recirculated back to the intake...some intakes don't even have a nipple for a BCS vacuum line. It's simply done that way to keep everything sealed so no dirt or water can reach the solenoid.

Just run a vacuum line from the nipple on the jpipe to the wastegate assuming your still internally gated, if you have an external gate only hook a line to the bottom port and leave the top port open, only use the top port if you have an electronic boost controller, no reason it should over boost then.
