Just bought 91 tsi fwd, from local shop. They did head and gasket, the guy told me that they put it all back to gather and tried to start it and it would flood cylinder full of gas.
Got it home and made sure timing was correct, and it was. Then checked the fuel rail and it had no plastic spacers and lower insulators. Anything else I need to check besides the ECU? I looked at the ECU and it looks OK, no leaks, no smell. Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Your going to need some plastic spacers and lower insulators obviously.. You could clean your fuel injectors, and check all the wirring harness. Did you thoroughly inspect your ECU? Do you have spark? Other then that check for fuel pressure. It'd be odd if it was just dumping fuel into your cylinder uncontrollably..

I don't know yet. That's what the seller said AKA the the auto shop owner.
Want to get some opinions.
Really just need short block, but the head looks fresh. Tought I might try to see if it runs, before I pull it at least do compresion test.

Just took a better look at ecu and I see a tiny bit of black under one cap.
Do you guys think it would be ok to try my a/t ecu? Or do I have to put the 390's in it?

I have a old n/a head for spacers, and seals.

Sorry to post before I turned the key, I just know that 2 heads are better than one!
Thanks,

Ok, put in a/t ecu and buttoned it all up and tryed to fire it up and it trys to start but won't.
Drained all old fuel and put new in, got spark and fuel but no start! Open for any input. Would like to start it before I pull it.
