So my TOB squeeks.
It sounds like a cricket actually but it's constant.
It's my TOB for sure.

It's an OEM, and we just threw a new one in about a month ago, I figured it was just standard noise for a new TOB, but im a bit scared.
The squeek goes away with light pressure on the clutch.

Help?

Yep, need another TOB.

Sounds like you've got clutch adjustment issues to have problems with TOB's.

Normally, a TOB should last the lifetime of the clutch if the hydraulic system is adjusted correctly.

Also, did you do a clutch replacement previously, and did you get it centered on the flywheel?

Do you ride the clutch pedal between shifts, or get the foot off the clutch between shifts? If you ride that pedal, that really puts the unneeded pressure on the TOB.

I just put my new transmission in :(
You sure I need a new TOB? I'm really gonna cry if I do.
The clutch is adjusted fine and dandy.

I hate my life.

Weird thing is, it made the exact same noise with the old trans and TOB.
But, it goes away with little pressure to the clutch.
I wonder if it's just a charictaristic of my car?

Could it be my CLUTCH making that noise?
That WASN'T Replaced.

How does your clutch looked like? While you had that tranny out, you should have done a clutch, new TOB fork and pivot ball.

Look under where you see the tab that comes out of the tranny that touches the slave ram. The tab should be dead center, or even towards the driver side of the car. If it more leans towards the passenger side, that TOB fork is worn (or even the fingers on the pressure plate can get tired as well..) and the pivot ball needed to be shimmed foward..and that could be the cause of the chirping....

Clutch looked fine.
The tab *Should* be dead center, but i'll check again tommorrow.

Really, everything feels fine. The clutch doesn't suddenly "Stop" when you push it down (symptoms of a bent clutch fork)
