i have rubbing on my rear tires after i got 18 in rims. My tire profile is 225/40/18
and i am lowered 1.5 inches. Every time i go on highway my tires get cut up by inner lip on the rear which is sharp. I have been looking around a few body shops to have my fenders rolled up but there is no where they will do it . The keep saying they dont got the tool. I heard you can use a bat but i was using my wooden bat and the bat is getting cut up as soon im trying to roll it up. HELP PLEASE!!!

dont use a bat. i do believe places like tire rack will rent out fender rollers. an alternative to rolling fenders is to cut the inner lip of the fender to gain some clearance also. you can also buy a fender roller, although it cost about 200 bucks or so, but look at it this way, once you have one you can charge your buddy 20 bucks or whatever to roll their fenders or you can rent your roller out!

also, make sure you use a heatgun on and around the area you are rolling to prevent the paint from chipping/cracking. also roll in small incriments, dont do one whole section at once

No, cutting the inner lip is NOT an alternative. It is a critical part of the structural integrity of the unibody. You can roll it, but don't cut it.

Ideally, this is tool you're looking for :thumb: :

I live in Massachusetts's also at tirerack they don't rent out the tool. Thanks guys

egads! Here's a guy who apparently bought the tool for his own use and decided to rent it out at 50 bucks a week. He has a waiting list a year long.

You must have went with a brutal Offset for 225's to Rub.

My 235's rubbed slightly so I used a metal pole to bend the Lip and then a Bat to "Roll" the fenders and now there fine.

offset i dont understand by that and i order the wheels off from wheelfire.com and they told me they would fit fine without rubbing and i also asked on 2gnt forums if it would rub and they said ill be fine. Now that i have the wheels and my rear tires are getting cut each time i go over a bump or on highway.

What size are your rims? I have 18x8 Tenzo GT-5's on my GSX and Its lowered more than that... Another option is to get some kind of camber adjustment and angle the wheels in a little. Maybe a little would be all you need.

you can always take a pipe to it. me and my friend rolled the fenders on his 240 with a pipe with a cloth on it. just park on a hill then wedge the pipe between the tire and the fender have the pipe at the back of the tire and fender and have aa friend ease out the brake and let the car roll down the hill thats all there is to it.

Even though it's $200, thats cheaper then replacing a good 18" tire that rubs and wares out faster. :thumb:

Do it right or don't do it at all.

I'm dropped 2 inches with 17s. When I had my 235s in the rear it rubbed the inner lip every time I turned right or left. So, I took off my rear wheels then got my channel locks; bent the lip where ever it was rubbing then got my hammer and banged it upwards. It sure is ugly but nothing a coat of paint can fix and not to mention no more rubbing. :thumb:
