Background: This summer is was ridiculously hot in SoCAL, reaching over 110*F on some days. Even though i upgraded to a Fluidyne Radiator and a 1360CFM SPAL Fan. It would still overheat on long drives (30+ min).
Problem: My FMIC was blocking the air flow to the radiator. In addition, i still have my crash beam; so hacking the little black part would be useless.
Solution: PICS BELOW!
Results: The "hole" is great! My engine bay is SIGNIFICANTLY cooler. My temp gauge is always below half under all conditions. I have some mesh laying around, I plan on painting it flat black and epoxying a Mitsu emblem on it.
