OK fwd turbo dsm(mods in profile) add fmic, short route ic pipes injectors and tuning. I do a little drag but I want all around corner huging grip. Question is what tire size....here are my choices 225 on 7 in wheels or 235 on 8 in wheels the only reason Im asking is price is it worth it to get 235 over 225?? Opinions are welcome experience would be even better. Thanks
Andrew

I'd stick to 225. Slightly less cost. Plus you're FWD so why increase rolling friction by having two wider rear tires that are just being drag around. Also, the wider rim will be heavier and the all of the added weight is on the rim and tire away from the center of rotation... that means your moment of inertia or rotational mass will be significantly greater. I = mr^2

In terms of footprint, 235 isn't that much wider than 225, so all the advantages you'd gain from the slight increase in traction pales in comparison to the disadvantages.

However... if you plan on getting a big brake kit later on, you may have a harder time finding a 7" wide rim that will clear the calipers without using spacers (not that there's anything wrong with that as long as they are H&R spacers).

OK well Im definatley not getting a "big brake " upgrade...My car has metalic pads with cross drilled rotors and stops on a dime.
I will probly go with the 225 tires as pricing for all 4 wheels and tires will be the price of 8 in wheels alone.
