Someone told me that when dragracing in a gsx, its very important to inflate the tires the rigth way or i could end up with a dead driveline. Do the front tires need to be a little under-inflated or the rear tires need to be? I'm guessing that its better for the front tires to be the primary means of traction while the rear supliments? Just wondering. I don't drag race anymore because it puts too much strain on the car. I love my road racing though. So any input on the best inflation for that is welcome.

just inflate them however you need to get rid of wheelhop.. my car had a bad habit of spinning hte fornts and dead hooking hte rears.. so i run 25ish lbs in the rear and 18-20 lbs in the front to keep it from hopping

Back when I wasn't making much power I would run 40psi in all 4, now I drop them to about 28ish

PS I don't think Drag Racing puts much more strain on your car then Road racing. I have a solid 100 passes on my car this year alone and I never broke a thing.

I trapped 111.7, but had a slipping clutch when I ran that so wheel spin wasnt an issue. I ran 40psi in all 4.

It also might have something to do with how well your track is prepped. At woodburn we only have grooves to line up in, so we get lots of traction. If youre in the rough stuff lower front would help with wheel hop like CandianTSi said.

I ran 18psi in front and 20psi in rear, I read that idea suggested, and then my friend at the track suggested it as he was doing the same...

I run 30 psi all four corners with low 1.6 consistant 60' foots. I never hooked any better with lower tire pressure.
Also I thought the rule of thumb was higher tire pressure can give you more mph than lower pressure. But as you all have said that some setups and cars need lower pressure to prevent wheel hop. It's kinda a give and take situation.

i run 20 psi in the front and 18 psi in the rear. when its squatting you want the rear tires to wrinkle more than the front.
