I wanted to post this in the NEWBIE forum because I knew more people would see it.

1990 AWD 4 wheel alignment.

I just took it up there to get an alignment. I have bolts in the front and the DME eccentric cam/bushings in the rear, and I tell the guy at the desk it has camber kits on it. It takes an hour and a half to align JUST the front.

I was charged $109 for a 4 wheel alignment. I get my car back and looking at the back the tires are still sittin waaaay out. I go back up there and have the guy look at it and he says its "its AWD right?" "You cant adjust the rear on these" So they sent me out the door charging me for a 4 wheel alignment for just the front, when I saw them ####ing with the rear on the rack. I visually show him the bushings in the back. Then it goes back on the rack for not even 5 minutes to do the rear, when it took an hour and a half to do the front which I already had about dead on myself.

The camber in the back still doesnt visually look right and I dont know how they dialed it in without hooking the machine up to the rim, it was "eye balled" apparently. Im going to go to another Tire Kingdom and have them look at my alignment without telling them what happened and see what they say. Good thing I bought the package to have it aligned for up to a year. A bunch of BS, not even an apology for charging me full price for half the job.

I'm the store manager for a Merchant Tires in Gaithersburg, Maryland which is owned by Tire Kingdom. You're being charged a flate rate to do a job. It doesn't matter if it only takes them 1 min to set your car to specs. You still pay either 59.99 for the 1 alignment, 74.99 for 6 months or 6,000, and 99.99 12 months or 12,000. I know that it's hard to get the camber correct in the rear, in a lowered 1G AWD. You still can't really adjust the rear toe on these car anyway. You were right to be charged, but you may have been missed informed about adjusting the rear if it happended like that.

It doesn't matter if it only takes them 1 min to set your car to specs. You still pay either 59.99 for the 1 alignment, 74.99 for 6 months or 6,000, and 99.99 12 months or 12,000. I know that it's hard to get the camber correct in the rear, in a lowered 1G AWD. You still can't really adjust the rear toe on these car anyway. You were right to be charged, but you may have been missed informed about adjusting the rear if it happended like that.

If they couldnt adjust my rear, or didnt know how they should have informed me instead of letting me pay and cutting me loose to go trash a set of brand new tires due to their unprofessionalism. Im taking my car to a performance shop and getting a printout of how "off" the alignment is and then taking it to Tire Kingdom. I wonder how many people bring their vehicles into there and think they get an alignment.

No really muscatine tire and wheel. Its a business discount. Also the car is stock or oem suspension.

I adressed both of your issues in my earlier post. Yes, you should have been charged and even with a camber correction kit, it still may not be enough to get you back to normal specs. I and many others have been under cars with torches trying to get things to loosen up, so it may be adjusted. I've done many alignments before. 1g's were not made to sit low or to be lowered, and the o/e suspension does not work well in those conditions. I'm sure he told you that "That's the best it can be adjusted". I, nor knowone on my team, did the service for you. Feel free to try the service at another shop, just beware you MAY be wasting your money. For what it's worth my last car 92 Eclipse was lowered and suffered the same fate. I wish you the best of luck and you still have free alignments for a year, so just take it back.
