I noticed the other day when I did my ignition timing that the mark was jumping from 5* BTDC to like 8-10* BTDC. The car is driving ok but it doesnt seem to drive as good as it did before i did the ignition timing when it was at 10* BTDC. At idle the car will every once in awile give a sputter or a choke from the exhaust. Does anybody know what is causing the timing not to stay steady, or why the exhaust is choking out every once in awile.

Thanks,
Anthony

did you ground the timing adjustment plug before settin timing ... and also was the car a operating temp

Yes I did everything like I was supposed to. According to my logger the car idles at like 11-12* BTDC. Could a bad cas be doin this?

you used yur logger to adjust timing instead of a timing light ... the logger is not the most accurate thing ... try using a timing light and see if you still have the problem

No i used a timing light. I just logged my car yesterday driving to school and thats what the timing was reading at idle. I am wondering if my plugs or wires maybe could be bad, because when I was timing with the light, it would blink or flash regularly and then suddenly blink real fast for a few seconds and then go back to normal. It wouldnt keep the same speed of flash the whole time.
