I recently purchased a 6bolt timing belt cover but it did not fit correctly on my car. I have a 6bolt in my 2G and the side mount does not clear the opening, it is a few inches too far too the right. Even with some trimming there are some fitment issues.

I'm thinking I just need to purchase a new 2G cover, but I can only find it sold as three different pieces. Anybody have any insight on this? Are there covers that fit say only a 90-92, or it simply either a 6bolt or 7bolt cover?

Here is the one I picked up from a local DSMer, but it didn't work:

You need to cut an opening in order for it to clear the mount. I am at work, but there should be some write ups on here how to do it. sorry for the short reply. :)

On my car, I have it cut out around the motor mount. Everything else seems to bolt up fine. I have the upper and lower cover. I'm running the 6bolt with a 2g head.

Well I already trashed the 1G one I bought. I hacked it up so much that it was pretty much useless.

I want to just pick up a 2G one but apparently they only come in pieces.

They come in 3 pieces because that is the only way to get around the mount was for them to create that middle piece.

the 2g one will have issues bolting up at the bottom of the block. i was always rubbing the crank pulley on the cover. go with a 1g and use a dremel tool to cut it nice and clean.

See example below. I cut mine a little too big, i will probably put some thing to cover the small gap in the near future.

edit: another option i considered was to cut the 1g cover it so that i was using the 2g middle piece and 1g lower piece. Not sure how unusable you're current 1g piece is. Also, you can't use diaganol cutters on the hard plastic that it's made of. Also, when I say 1g i mean 6 bolt.
