hey dsm techs
got my car insured today and i am quite the happy booster...LOL....but the car is ticking like crazy. i have mobil one 10w 30 with a mobil one 105 oil filter and its ticking like crazy. it ticks in 5th gear at about 45 mph......as well as in 4th. also i notice a weird noise on idle like a tick tick tick from the belt area. I dont think its cwalk because it doesn't tick or the rpms dont decrease when i step on the cluth pedal. Please help....... :dsm:

it could be alot of things...lifter, rod knocking, exhaust valve taping...or some other miscleaneous part, put a screw driver to your ear while the car is running and place it on different parts of the motor and you will be able to isolate exactly where it is coming from, if its a lifter that should be obvious plain as day, you shouldnt even have to post for that, if your car has really low miles its most likely not a lifter but you never know

if it's lifter tick...use lucas oil stabilizer it has mixed review's but i had lifter tick and after two oil changes it was gone

haha lucus, not a bad product but to me its a bandaid fix, i would get 3g lifters, as a mater of fact i am installing mine next weekend
