Throttlebody Cleaning= High Idle and Surge

I just cleaned my throttlebody today. Now my idle jumped to 1500 RPM and it has surge also. Everything is connected correctly. I have 20 vac at idle, I used rtv instead of a gasket, and I bypassed the coolant lines going to the throttlebody. I also replaced my thermostat gasket, but it is at normal operating level. Do I have to wait until my computer relearns everthing or should I just adjust the BISS screw. Has anyone ever run into this same problem after cleaning their throttlebody? Feedback would greatly be appreciated.

Forgot to mention that the throttle cable has a little slack in it also. It had the slack before i took off the throttlebody but I doubt that the slight lack would make the rpms jump.

The throttle body is kinda like your home computer. It slowly picks up crap and over time it needs to be cleaned out. But many times, it's so out of whack, that a standard cleaning wont cut it. So it needs to be reformatted.

First, pull the throttle body completely off the car and clean it very throughly.
Then, proceed to test (and re-adjust if it needs to be) the ISC sensor --------> http://dmtalon.v8eaters.com/ISC.html
Next, re-adjust your SAS screw back to the stock setting --------> http://www.vfaq.com/mods/BISS-2G.html

Assuming your BISS isn't way out of adjustment, you should have a very clean and smooth idle after all that. I hope this helps.

I already searched and found out the stuff you just explained. I will check everything tomarrow. Thanks for the feedback.

The BISS was way off. I adjusted it and everything is back to normal.
