Throttle cable tension?

i was readin some stuff the other day and came across someone who said that if you have some play in your gas pedal you can adjust the tension of your throttle cable to take care of it. i took a look at the throttle today but i can't figure out how to adjust it, if its even adjustable. anybody ever do this before?

It adjusts by loosening the screws holding the mounting bracket on the manifold. Don't make them tight at idle.

so how should i do it?

To snug, then slack by 1/16".
