Please forgive me if this is in the wrong section.

I found answers to just about everything thats wrong with my 2g, except for this.

My gas pedal needs to be adjusted. The cable that attaches to the top of it, sticks out about | | to far. So when I'm giving it gas I have to press extra hard to initiate movement just a little bit. This is only when Im giving it about 5-10% throttle, the rest of the range is normal.

As you can imagine this makes starting from a stop very hard because to keep rpms up I basically have to rev to almost 2k.

Now you can adjust the cable behind the IM right, but is that not just for issues with the butterfly not opening all the way. How or where do I adjust to get rid of slack at the pedal itself:confused:

There are no adjustments at the gas pedal. I could be the pedal spring? Or a really sticky throttle plate? Maybe it is time for a new throttle cable. Here is a pic of the assembly.

Correct. There are two 10mm bolts attach to the firewall side of the intake manifold. Loosen them up and slide the cable bracket towards the driver's side to tighten it. Are you running cruise control, or a standard non-cruise cable?

ooo thank you for that picture! Its using from what I can tell, the stock throttle cable. It does still have cruise setup.
I cleaned out my tb and it did not seem to help, but the one thing I did notice was the butterfly seemed to actually touch the wall of the tb. Now it could just be a tighter fit then Im used to on my other cars, but it seems like its touching.
I was looking for those 2 bolts but could not seem to find any, or for that matter, how I would adjust the cable itself from that point :(

In the picture the bolts are #2. Just loosen them (don't unbolt them) and slide the bracket back towards the driver's side fender (to the right when you look at it) this will put tension on your throttle cable.

Hey, I had the same problem, and the pedal armature was bent. (this took a long time to figure out, its not something that you would look for). All I did was "carefully" bend the pedal armature upwards until it was close to being the same level as the brake pedal. Now its perfect!
Note:If its not bent, this would be a poor fix. I just did this because that was the problem.

Good Luck!
Chris.
