Throttle body wire???

I have a 6bolt swap in my GSX and I have noticed something on my throttle body. My wiring for the 6 bolt runs by my throttle body and there is a wire coming out of the bundle of wires that goes to something on my throttle body. Can someone inform me as to what this is? Its importance and what-not. Thanks

Can't see real well but it looks like the swich that tell the ecu that the throttle is closed.

Correct. That is the throttle stop. It is not plugged in or used on a 2g, but you must switch your 2g TPS (4 prong) onto the 1g TB in order to compensate.

ok soo I think this wire was hooked up to this plug then I think it came off. Do I need to hook it back up or no? I believe this is a 1g throttle body(not sure) and when I bought the car it had the 6bolt swap done. I believe the 2g TPS is switched over, maybe not. Any help would be great. Thanks

Isn't that the throttle body butterfly? It's only use is to hold the throttle cable in place? The big metal clip in the middle of the picture is the throttle stop sensor. Unplug your TPS and check if there are 4 pins instead of 3 to verify that it is a 2g TPS.

Yes, the metal clip is what the wire was running to.

your TPS is the black thing on the frontside of the TB. it is located right next to the BISS.

I found the TPS, there is a bunch of wiring keeping me from getting at it at the right angle to unplug it. It looked like I could see 3 wires going into the plug though. The top half of the plug is red, if that matters.

Yup that's the one. You need to remove the plug and look at the TPS itself to see what you need to find out.

Now is this a big deal if the wire is unplugged? Will this hurt the car while unplugged?

Again, if you do not use the 2g TPS your ECU has no way of telling that your throttle is closed. One might deduce the problems that lead to this.
