Throttle Body Coolant Bypass

I have a '90 Talon TSI. I read in an article that if you bypass the throttle body and just connect the two lines with a nipple coupler. It also said this messes with the A/F ratio or idle of the car. Has anyone tried this, and does it work or is it dangerous?

There is nothing to be gained by doing it and you will mess up the idle circuit. The FIAV needs the coolant running through it to close the bypass used for fast idle, so you will get fast idle all the time. If you mess with the FIAV next winter you'll be trying to figure out why your car won't stay running.
