Throttle Body Coolant Lines

I'm trying to remove and clean my throttle body and I'm stuck at the coolant lines. I'm not sure whether to drain all of the coolant and remove the lines or just remove and clamp them. Which would be easier since it's kind of hard to get to those lines.

Just remove the lines at throttle body. It will be alot easier then draining your whole system. You will lose a little bit of coolant when you do so, but it shouldn't be a big deal.

As far as I know if you are to keep your factory fiav you need to keep the coolant flowing to it so that your fiav works correctly. Unless your blocking that off then I think your all good. Double check that 1st this is just what a car builder told me when I asked. He said something about it melts a wax ball or something.

Correct, unless you disable the FIAV the coolant lines are required to avoid having the FIAV stay open at operating temp and possible causing idle surging.
