New Xact flywheel, almost new 2600 pressure plate and new clutch disc. I'm using a regular car jack to lift the transmission up into the engine bay and I can't get it on. I first thought that I got the shaft into the splines of the disc and I got the top two bolts threaded about half way in, but the longer two bolts just wouldn't reach to start threading, so I don't know if it was actually in the splines. Can anyone offer any hints as to how I can do this, or what I'm doing wrong?

I would have to say that if you cant completly push the transaxle up against the block by hand, then your not lined up. When every thing is lined up the transaxle should slide right on. Do you have a clutch alignment tool? If not just put your head up in there and make sure its centered. You should not have to use the transaxle-to-block bolts to pull them together, at least I don't on a AWD TSI.

Hope this helps!

Thanks. AFter a lot of wiggling and breaking my back I got it to go on. I'm just nervous that I may have damaged the pressure plate fingers while I was doing it.

Doubt you damaged the fingers, the 2600 PP is pretty beefy.
