This car is driving me crazy

I have '97 GST Spyder, with the 4g63T engine. A month ago It developed a terrible miss. It would not rev past about 1800 RPMs. Using a timing light I determined that cylinders 2 and 3 were not firing when I reved it up. I removed the power transistor and tested it per the Chiltons manual I have. It tested bad on cylinders 2 and 3. I replaced the power transistor and the miss went away and the car ran fine. Now the car has developed the exact same miss on the exact same cylinders and the new power transistor tests bad just like the old one.

What is causing this power transistor to go bad. I admit it could be a coincidence, but it is unlikely. Any ideas as to whats going on.

Check your resistor and coil packs.

If both coils primary resistance test ok, replace the noise capacitor. It looks like a small aluminum can bolted on the driver's side back of the intake manifold with only 1 wire coming out of it. It filters out electrical spikes that can ruin transistors.
