This broke off my coil pack

Car is a 92 Tsi.

I can't really seem to remember or figure out what this is for. I feel like I read it's for helping frequencies in the radio, but that seems crazier the more I think about it. The wire broke off in a way that I cannot repair it.

That is the noise filter.

Its just a noise filter to keep electrical noise from interfering with other electronics in the car. I know a lot of people are able to get away without running one without adverse affects.

I had this broke on my car when we intalled a upgraded stereo system my car started to missfire. I do not understand how it was related but I replaced the coil and no problems afterwards.

It's the capacitor to filter the switching noise from the power feed to the coil. If we knew the value you could replace it with another capacitor but your best bet would be get one from another coil pack.
