Thats a big stick... oh thats why Gofer wants to see me race on the 24th... hmm, maybe i will show up anyways

no better time to practice, LOL

oh wow, thanks for the vote of encouragement, i'll remember that

this is true... i would be right up there with you guys if i had the money to convert to e85

~340 at the wheels just by switching to e85 with tune... cant complain with that

just you wait for when i get money LOL

how dose what work?

assuming he is refering to the head form a 4g61t they are the same just with smaller ports and smaller combustion chamber. which will result in a higher static compression. something in the nature of 9.1:1 with a standard 2g piston. which would be great for budget E85 build. and 1g piston to 8.2:1

these heads can also be found on the hyundai g4cn motors

Hey Krrriiouuusss, I wish I had your welding skill to fabricate this battery tray dammit. NOT! Don't need that shit dawg, I'm a bad ass and my battery isn't going anywhere.

Did you get hemmed up at the track or something for non mounted battery?

No. The way I had it mounted before it was suspended about 2" off the subframe and held well with just a bolt jamming it in there. Recently though I've been adding all my new parts that have been accruing the last year or so and one of them is that Calan catch can, which I'm trying to mount over the battery. With the battery the way it sat, 2" over the subframe, the can rested on the top of the battery and I've already been there, done that, with an electrical fire and it's not happening again.

To say the least, I had to drop the battery those 2" and ON the subframe but it slid around and wouldn't have passed tech if I had taken it to the track. Kris kept telling me to come over with some angle iron and he'd weld one in for me, I refused. I told him I was making it out of strapped steal to throw him off... LOL

I used a Dodge Avenger battery tie down and hammered the shit out of the "tray" portion of the stock 2g battery tray and ended up only having to drill and tap a single hole. AMAZING. :thumb:

very nice... looking good

Thanks Chris. I'm going to toss an M8x1.25 stud in the chassis side of the tie down and secure it with a nut/lock washer/fender washer to make it a little easier to R&R. That bolt in there doesn't look right and could easily back out with enough vibration...

:dsm:

damn, that wouldnt be good... and im pretty sure you car has no issues vibrating...LOL

Gah i need to get some money... all i need are some injectors, a pump, and a tune

Why does my job hate me so, LOL

Finally, engine bay is assembled after months of being torn apart. Now it's time to put my wrenching skills to the test and see if the damn thing starts tomorrow... :coy:

Hmmm, i see some plastidipping going on in that engine pic... btw gofer, we need to get together for that drink and some photos... and i heard your not hobbling around on crutches so cant use that as an excuse anymore LOL

There's ZERO Plasti-dip in that engine bay, maybe a little Rust-O-Leum BBQ Black but no Plasti-dip. Lets do it this weekend, I'll take a few pictures of the X getting sideways in the rain...

:dsm:

Sounds good, Sunday would be only day im free, trying to go mtb'ing tomorrow

Well, if you're trying to go mountain biking (assuming that's what mtb'ing is) tomorrow don't even bother showering in the a.m. You'll get plenty wet on your bike ride because, believe me, the rain is coming...

The only thing I think we're missing is a tornado warning right now Chris, you really think it's a good idea to plan a mountain biking trip tomorrow? ROFL
