I ripped everything off, weld and grind, bondo... ive seen it done with rubber or the caulking idea sounds good ("is there a taste to the caulk?") but it depends on if it would match your car.

I'm sorry i just finished posting and than i see that. LOL I guess im the only one that finds this funny but w/e sorry take no offense

I haven't done a permanent fix but my temporary fix may last forever.

1. Tape as many of the holes as possible from underneath with duct tape. There will be several you can't reach with tape.

2. Apply a wide piece of masking tape over the top of each hole.

3. Cut out the shape of the hole in each piece of tape.

4. Fill each hole with JB weld. Overfill a little. The tricky part is filling the holes without the tape underneath. I used the old drywall repair trick in miniature: Cut a tiny square of cardboard that is slightly larger than the hole but is still able to fit though when turned the right way. Stick a needle with thread through each cardboard piece. Stick the cardboard through the whole and use the thread to hold it flush while you fill the hole.

5. When the JB weld is firm but not fully cured, scrape off the top flush with the surface of the vehicle with a razor blade. The masking tape will prevent you from scratching the paint.

6. Cover the repairs with touch up paint before you remove the masking tape.

Yea i used electrical tape for the spoiler holes and my antenna as a temporary solution. works fine. its great to see that im not the only one that thinks these cars look way better without the spoiler. :thumb:

dont do it unless you have the money to have the wholes shaved. i took mine off, and there is probably 20 holes that remain. i tried to find some rubber plugs to fill them, but the wholes are all odd shapes like squares and ovals. so today i spent 40 bucks at the dealership buying all the pieces that i broke when removing my wing, just so i could put it back on. again, i would say dont do it unless you plan on haveing the wholes shaved right away.

what would i need to do or what would i have to go about doing in order to make a 98 talon wingless....just asking, any help would be appriciated...thank you

Take the wing off...weld of fill the holes, repaint. If your not good with body work, you probaly should have a shop do it for you...should be around 500-600.

even if i removed the wing my self to smooth over the holes would be that expensive at a body shop?

Does anyone have a tsi w/factory ground effects, without the factory spoiler on it?? I'm going to convert my laser to look like a talon, but I was curious as to what the car would look like with the talon front and rear bumpers, ground effects (including door pieces), and without the factory spoiler. I've got it also, but I'm curious. Thanks.

Please post pics or links if you've got them.

I don't have any pictures, but I think spoilerless DSMs are damn sexy.

1st gens are teh ugly w/o something back there, 2g's are a nother story, although i'd never de-wing one other than the high 97-99 eclipse spoiler. Looks too much like a supra wannabe to me i guess.

I've decided to keep my wing off. I actually like the look. To me it allows the hatch to flow more smoothly. I know it's just mind tricks but it actually makes the car look shorter. I had it off for a week, put the turbo spoiler back on then decided to take it off temporarily. I will be patching up the holes and having it repainted.

Who else prefers no spoiler?

Dam trap, looks NICE!!!
All I would do now is black out the tailights and your set!

PS- How much you want for it??

:dsm: Dan :dsm:

I was thinking of going wingless eventually. How much did you guys pay for it? Also, are there any white 2gs around?

I run wingless as well. Now I just need some free time to fill the holes :p

I think the car looks less gaudy without it.. slightly more refined IMO.
