Id hate to tell you too, that the damn Eclipse isnt even turbo'd. From what it looks like going by what people are saying, the Eclipse wassnt even making the sound that people heard on the movie. And were you refering to me as a moron? Because I think a moron is someone whos more concerned about making their car sound mAaD TyTe like the F&F Eclipse and posting in the absolute worst and wrong forum on here. This topic belongs in Non-Performance.

its a flame fest!

sheesh.. ya cant blame the guy, the car did sound nice in the movie, but no car will prolly ever sound that good, they prolly edited it so much after they recorded it/made it bla bla..

This thread was about some guy that drinks pee or something...

Regards,

I would let this forum know what car you have, along with yer goals beyond "make my car sound as crisp and clean as the eclipse in F&F", outkaster. We will help if you let us.

Was referring to you because you think hes trying to make it look like it. But hes actually referring to trying to make it sound like it because the car does sound like a clear crisp car to hear, personally i think it sounds awsome myself. If you dont like it then O WELL. =\
Your opinion.

What car is it?
What are the goals?
What does he have?
What is his budget?
What is your favorite color?

Well, after reading the article, it's pretty disappointing how much they really #### up the cars they used in the movie. Not only that, but the hp/torque the movie guys say these cars put out are nowhere near the actual values - not even as good as stock, in fact.

The 1993 Supra was rated at 654hp, 525lb-ft, 4.5sec 0-60 and 11.9sec 1/4. I guess the body kit, pukey yellow paint and fire-spitting exhaust lowered it down to a real-world 14.5@94 and 0-60 in 6.4sec. Stock specs are 13.1sec/4.6sec. With the GReddy setup that car should have run 12's, easily.

For the movie they modified an AWD (of course) 1999 Skyline GT-R R34 to be RWD. In the F&F world it was rated at 505hp/444lb-ft, 4.1sec 0-60 and 12.1sec 1/4. When SCC drove it they got 14.1@101. Otherwise, it was burnout central without the AWD and 4WS.

The 2002 EVO in the movie was stock except for it's horrible paint job, body kit/wing combo and of course the F&F trademark flaming exhaust. It ran 15.3@88 and pulled 0-60 in 7.3sec. Holy ****, my Grand Am could do that.

The "Orange Julius"-powered RX-7 was a big disappointment, but F&F rated it at 350hp, 4.9sec and 13.6sec. It actually ran 14.6@93 and 6.4sec. Also, the stock brakes couldn't hold it down until 131ft. Day0m!

The absence of testosterone which is that fugly S2K with the anime chick on the side and furry seats, supercharged or not, ran a shocking 13.9@99 and 5.7sec 0-60. The F&F guys said it would run 13.1 and 5.3. Must've been the square steering wheel that was at fault. Pink flames shoot out the back, how "cute."

There was also a 69 Yenko (replica) Camaro and 426 Hemi-powered Challenger present somewhere in the movie, but they were good for burnouts and not much else

yea i saw that test.. i guess the cars are a lil beat up and not maintained, not to mention the testers werent good drivers i bet.. as well 500+ lbs of wings, paint, nitrous bottles, and audio equipment to weigh it down..

also, on the skylines.. there is a button/switch you press to make it RWD i believe..

If AWD is equiped, why would you even want to take it off? You still have the extra weight with just RWD.

Drifting.....

and dyno tuning/testing because there arent that many AWD dynos..

Im sure if you can afford a Skyline GT-R you can afford to have it taken somewhere to have it properly tuned and dynoed.

No, your mistaken. I DONT think hes trying to make it LOOK like it. I fully understand that he wants it to sound like it. But why concentrate on making your car sound like a DSM thats on a movie infamous for rice and a car thats not even making that sound in the first place let alone making the mistake of posting this in the ENIGINE PERFORMANCE FORUM

because he felt like asking it, so the answer to your question is.. i doubt your car will sound like that, but listen to some different exhaust clips(search around for some) and make a decision, and exhaust, which has a major part in how a car sounds(obviously), is also performance related, so i think the question fits this forum actually, or more so than any other..
