Did they do good work on the car? It seems like a lot of modified cars have real dopey work done on them.

Holset HX35 & HX40's are supposed to be pretty amazing.

It's hard to say really. Looking at some of the parts you can tell some things were the work of a DSMer for sure LOL. Most things that count do look decent though.

i'll do some searching on those turbo's though, thanks for some options.

1000's, get those injectors or you're going to run out of fuel pretty quick. That turbo likes a rich tune and can make a LOT of power, especially in t3 form which is what you have!

Yeah, I agree with jrohner. Never rely on a second-hand built block and car. You never know what the previous owner did to it or the quality of the guy that blueprinted the block.

Just by the fact that he went with 600cc and a PTE SCM6152 turbo doesn't look too good.

As far as turbo's go, i don't mind selling that turbo if there's something better and about the same price range. What are some better turbo's than that? I only stayed with a Big 16g on my 2G dsm so i never did research on the bigger turbos, i guess i have some homework.

As for a better turbo that is good for you goal of 400hp, I'd highly recommend a Holset HX35. It is really affordable and reliable. You can even buy a used one off of eBay for 300-400 bucks. The turbo is made for 6.0L-10L turbo diesel trucks, it's unbreakable and spool 2k+ rpm earlier than the SCM6152 and will leave it in the dust.

WHY would you sell that turbo you have now for a hx35?!?
Sure its overkill, but if you want 400whp then buy a 16g or a 50 trim.
The turbo you have NOW is a less efficient non bb 35r.
Just stick with what you have now, i made 476whp on the scm6152 on the stock 7 bolt and im STILL running the stock 7 and that was about 2 years ago.

To be honest, I am probably mixing up things with terminology. Too use to rotatory 13B LOL.

I know for sure he said it was a 3 inch exhaust and I will re-ask about the exhaust. He was running a 20G turbo so I am sure that he needed the 3 inch exhaust flow.

I think there is 90k miles on it, I will have to double check it again. I can't wait to drop the motor in and get it running!

you're confusing me dude. I don't know why i'd sell my turbo that's why i'm posting here to see what options there are or what's best for the setup.

As far as the turbo goes, you say it's overkill for 400 but you're also it's less efficient than a 35r? but to my understanding you're wondering why someone mentions trading up?
what's the spool rpm range for a hx35, and then a SC-6152E T3. Is the 35 suppose to be betteR?

Spool is supposed to be 20+ psi by 3500rpm on a 2.0 with 272 cams with the 35.

You've obviously never ran a 35r with cams, or a 35r in general LOL. 4500+ rpm for that setup depending on what hotside you plan to choose.

To the OP, i was going off of a quote someone else had for you about selling it or trading up. The 6152 IS a 35r diameter comp wheel but if you compare that to an actual 35r, which is ball bearing and designed slightly different, its less efficient.

The turbo you have could be traded for a holset or whatever but im just sayin, what you have now will suit your goals AND leave you plenty of room to add boost.

EDIT: im not hyping up the 6152, im just saying you have a 550whp+ turbo and you should just stick with it unless lag is an issue.

With that turbo, I would definatly look for 850cc or higher for injectors. The 660's will work but with a very conservative tune which seems a little wierd considering the potential of that turbo. If your considering getting a different turbo for it, I would recommend figuring out which turbo you want before purchasing new injectors to get the best match and save a little $$$.

You live in kansas, you need to be on e-85 so you need atleast 1600cc.

get a bulleyepower s362 ett youl get 30 psi by 3800-3900 rpm with power potential of 650 awhp in the safe range but it costs around $ 1,500

For $1000 I can get a Black 95 Talon esi,with no motor/trans.

But it comes with a complete 4g63 turbo and trans, wiring harness and ecu from a 96 Talon tsi.

Problem is the Talon has a 420a.

No I'm not thinking that.........;)

The body is great on the Talon btw,and I have a strange craving for a 2g.........

What to do......

Well if I got this I would be looking for another 420a for it,I don't own a machine shop so I'm not about to attempt that swap.

I think the guy didn't realize what was involved in the swap,so now he's getting rid of it.

That seems like a pretty good deal to me. You could probably sell the 4g63 motor and trans and have enough to buy a 420a motor and trans. I think it would be pretty easy to find a 420a motor and transmission too

Well Ive got a 92 Talon that needs a motor if we decide to do so.....

If Not i think I can get more than $600 for it,its got 60,000 miles on it,seems solid.

just now starting to shop around for prices on 420a........

Why dont you turbo the car in your avatar instead of playing around with the 420a. When you blow your n/t motor than you can build it up and be bulletproof.

I could do that but that's my dd right now, which I only paid $500 for and only invested a water pump and a few knuckles.

plus I really want a 2g............

Bad:D
