Ok here is the deal...93 or 94(not exactly sure although I should be) five speed awd talon tsi sunroof and leather car(not in real good shape as far as the leather is concerned) 125,000 miles....IDLEING PROBLEM but thats it still runs and drives good, no grinds, bone stock never been messed with...When I popped the hood...no leaks, drips or anything like that,really nice actually... BUT remember that idleing problem? well the sensor that plugs into the throttle body at sort of an angle, Im assuming tps is unplugged and the sensors metal tabs are crushed....upper timing belt cover has been removed I guess to check timing belt condition cause the owner said he has tried alot of things to figure out why it wont idle...were not talking erratic idle just wants to die...gotta keep it alive..........but anyway he said he has 1500 in it and thats what he wants so I figure 1200 is a good deal being that it has the idleing problem what do you guys think.....oh yeah and minimal rust....OPINIONS NEEDED I already have a 91 auto that looks dam good and runs equally as well but compression readouts are 130,125,125,121 so Im gonna need to rebuild it or by this one and make it my track car....

I wouldn't do it. For 9k you can get a decently modded 2g with a swap in it. Don't jump the gun. You'll find one if you keep your eyes out for it. 5500 would be ok seing as it's the season to drive them, however 9k is way to much. That's dealer price! Running a carfax is a plus! Always do it on cars of our nature. And think about it...the girl is driving a saleen now....you think she didn't beat on it? . Good luck and happy hunting.

I'm not looking for a motor swapped car, I'm looking for a daily driver bro, that's why this car is priced so high because it probably actually runs great low miles and is reliable according to them, and has quality mods that only help it breath. I've been searching around I've found base model Eclipse RS and junk like that for like 6-7 K with like 80-100 K sometimes they were in the 9-10 thousand range

and this car is CLEAN!

she stated she doesn't want anything lower then 9K

I am wondering why you keep asking for opinions when it seems you have already made up your mind. It would seem to me that you are just searching for someone to agree with you to make you feel better about overpaying for a car.

Look at the facts.

1. Female owned and driven. I appologize to the few females that can drive but 95% cant and don't take proper care of a car like this.

2. You have said it has had several accidents. Clean or not clean it is still a wrecked vehicle and without putting it on a frame machine to see how straight it is you will never know the full extent of the damages.

3. From what you have described to me it sounds like a mommy has money and can buy me what ever car I want case. The daughter clearly has parents that can afford to buy her what ever she wants to make her happy IE the saleen mustang. A person that goes from a gst to a saleen clearly has a itch for speed. Do you really think the car was not beat on??
Or how about the girl getting everything she wants and not respecting the car. A girl with a fast car has probably let a few boyfriends drive it.

This is just my opinion which probably doesn't matter much as it seems you are already sure to buy this car.

I understand, I just wouldn't say it's overpriced if they're not lieing and it isn't beat, she says it has all been checked out and everything was in pefect shape and I can check with the mechianics I mean if everything passes it really isn't over paying every time I look for a car I see stock eclipse GS running like 7-8k with like 80 thound on them

As long as this car is what she says it is, it should be great.

BTW how much does a Saleen Mustang cost around and what are they putting out for numbers?

Yep you are right people never lie about a vehicle. WTF They always tell the truth especially a mom that doesn't get to see what happens when she is away.

my daughter had the Eclispe as I mentioned 6 yrs. and when she graduated from college - I told her she had the choice of selling the Eclispe and taking the Mustang.....but we couldn't keep all cars. My husband has Parkinson's disease and can no longer drive.....so that leaves us with to many vehicles. In a bad moment I purchased the Mustang because I remembered the old days of my dying to have one, however we never hardly used it. 200l and only had 2000 miles on it in 2007.

wHOEVER GETS THIS CAR, WE WANT TO BE HAPPY WITH IT - AS MUCH AS MY DAUGHTER HAS ENJOYED IT......TRUST ME SHE HAS NOT RACED IT......AND KEEP IN MIND THE MILEAGE IS EXTREMELY LOW. She doesn't have an itch for speed just likes nice cars that is why she put $4500 into it.

The way I see it just let the guy waste his money. He says he has looked for this and that, yet clearly he hasn't searched the classifieds on here, as their are much cheaper cars in the same condition, or even better condition with a better history.

Like I said, they are selling the car, they will tell you whatever you want to hear, I and many others in this world do and have done the same exact thing to make something look better and get an extra buck. This reminds me off the movie Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson are in and the one guy is selling the Mexican dude the beat ass Honda with 30k on it for like 10k.

Have you even seen the car in person yet? Have you personally took it to a mechanic and a body shop? What maintenance records do they have with receipts? Has it had a timing job and water pump? What does it sound like? What do the spark plugs look like? When was the last time the spark plugs/wires were changed? How is the battery, corroded or taken care of? What do the motor mounts look like? How are all the boots on all of the suspension? Have you driven it? How do the gears engage, smooth as butter, any grinding? Etc...

We are all just trying to help out, yet you come back negative every time. We are giving opinions based on the facts that we have been given, take it or leave it.

if you would have actually read the first post on the thread you would have seen they have all maintenance records available, I plan on going down there to see how the car runs and looks in person, if all turns out well isn't this car fairly priced? the classifieds section is good, but most of the cars are already sold and ads from 06-07 and about 500 + miles away from me.
She says I can talk to her mechanic to get any info about this car if I need.

I'm just looking for a reliable car, nice, quick, fun.. if anyone can find me a better car that looks as good for cheaper, and less or the same millage, let's see it - No motor swaps or different turbos or serious engine mods.

no ones going to drop those mods into it just to make it look good, clearly it has to run good also after all that's what they're for.
