ok, i have 3000 dollars to dump into a 1992 turbo awd talon. pretty much stock except K&N and freashly rebuilt motor with forged pistons. what would you do first to make it run?

It really depends on how much HP you r looking for im takin a guess lets say u get a EVO 3 16G (very popular choice recently) i would recommend:
3" full exhaust
IC piping w/ FMIC
S-AFC
660cc injectors
EVO 3 Exhaust Mainfold, and o2 Housing
pocketlogger
EGT gauge

well i believe u get more hp gains from a FMIC, i would definately get one....

How come in your mods list you have a 14B turbo and 450cc injectors? Are you an automatic? Check out the tuning guide on here, MachV, RRE, VFAQ, and multiple other places for an idea of what you should get next.

You should get a system and some new cloths. Cars arn't everything ya know

A SAFC and some injectors. Also consider a Pocketlogger or tunerstien+B2k and a fuel pump.

A little tuning can go a long way.

Dejon Tool FMIC. Maybe a Magnus intake ( maybe too early but couldn
't hurt ). Pocketlogger and S-AFCII. Giant Disco ball that hangs from the rearview and an exhaust flame kit.

Hey people, i got $500 to spend on my 99 Eclipse GS, and uhh im too impatient to wait to get a turbo kit. Plus, it costs a lot of money and time, so yea...Is there any nice performance mods out there i could get, doesnt have to give alot of horsepower but at least decent hp.

So far, i got AEM CAI & Greddy Evo. I was also thinkin of gettin Zex wet kit but besides that, what could i spend my $500 on? Thnx yall

Besides that you could do a drop

I'd go with a suspension. Anything else you do besides nitrous won't yield enough of a gain to be very noticeable. With nitrous if you don't know what your doing you risk "blowing the welds on the intake".

On a serious note the suspension would be the most cost effective mod. You could even do it yourself with a buddy in a day.

afx underdrive pulley. 120 bux, wonderful mod and you can definately tell a difference. After that, port and polish the throttle body. I think that can all be achieved withh 500 bux.

Learn about nitrous. Best bang for buck. (unless you can afford a turbo kit )

i think you should..... give it to me ..... but really, the udp would be a good thing to get and you could still get some suspension work done

Get the Zex Nitrous.... or just go w/ a wet system from NX and buy a UDP as well (Ebay is your friend).

You should really consider turboing it... Putting together the parts (used) isn't expensive at all... 500 is a good chunk to buy the parts with.

Heres what i paid for mine (including shipping):

$60 14b turbo
$110 Vortech 12:1 FMU
$30 used 420a for flange to turbo
$50 SMIC
$30 1G BOV
$85 255 Walbro Fuel Pump

The remainder of the cost would be involved in putting it in, piping etc... but as you can see its not as expensive as you think...

Thnx yall, you've been a big help actually.
I think ill get the udp and suspension but i'm really curious about turboing it now with used parts thnx to jimwross ova here. Can you gimme some more info about this? Maybe you have a website that goes through this step by step? To tell u the truth, i didnt want to turbo my car because i dont want to do anything that will mess up my engine (it's my first car and i love it to death). And it's hard to learn about goin turbo because my comp is slow as hell and in Omaha, theres only one mitsubishi dealership, which i hate because they're all greedy and bastards... so yea, thnx tho, any help is appreciated.
