now I know that there is a few different threads stating that if your stub shaft does not have the oil galley, DONT USE it. well has anybody tried to put the oil galley into the ebay buaght stub shaft and used it and got lucky. I ordered the ebay BSE kit simply because it was cheap. the front balance shaft block off bearings went in perfectly, the metal freeze plug went in good with alittle cracking in the case. but nothing that JB weld didn't/couldn't take care of. just now the only thing is that I have that shaft and debating weather to take my drill press and act as a lath and take my grinder and grind a oil galley into it.

Just cut it stock balance shaft and tap the end for a short 10 mm bolt with some loctite

I could do that and I have the taps. just rather have one that is already sealed with no worries of possibly falling out in the engine some day

Why when you can buy the right one for $14 ?

I was going to use the stock 1.6 mirage stub shaft. have it ordered. but this was just going threw my head, if anybody has tried this, and if so had success. and BTW, what year is that stub shaft for the mirage suppose to go to.

Now this is a first...

I've heard everything from coil overs to turbos... But never BSE kits.

I feel like this is up there with Ebay Internals...... Its your $ & your car, so do your thing man

Around 16:00 he starts talking about the balance shaft elimination stubby and how an Ebay one grenaded his motor due to lack of an oil groove in it.

This is the absolute best idea besides having your stock balance shaft machined down (just machining the counterweight off it). All those BSE kits sold by the vendors are just using an OEM 4G61 stubby shaft. Any 4G61 motor had it, but you can order it for a 1989 Mirage turbo.

ok. that's what I was wondering because I have it ordered thru the dealer and they pulled up the part number that I got off vfaq.com and they were just asking what year it was from and I dint have any idea.
