Well I'm selling my profec B spec II and I have someone coming by this saturday to look at it. The profec just gives me too many problems. Horrible buy...I should've looked into it more. Anyway I was just wondering what everyone thought the cheapest yeat most reliable boost controller is. As of right now, I've narrowed down my choices to a hallman mbc or possibly a Joe P. mbc..though the joe p's kinda seem like Home Depot boost controllers. If you have one, let me know how it's working for you and how long you've had it and everything. Thanks to anyone in advance!

the hallman is really nice, it has a set screw that keeps you from unscrewing it too far and it falling out.

Ive used a dawes devices MBC, and a Joe-P.

The Dawes deviced MBC was only $35, but it was a PITA to adjust. The Joe-P is just as good and easy to adjust. The only draw back was that I melted half the adjustment knob, It got to close to the manifold OMG

I have been using a Joe P for years. Nothing but good things to say about it.

My JoeP has been working perfectly for 8 months; no creep, no spike, no surge.

My friend bought one and they are straight from homedepot.

All MBCs are really the same though, some just have pretty housings instead of a brass one. When you buy an expensive one, you are paying for the sticker on the side and the chrome on housing. A ball is a ball, a spring is a spring, etc.

Joe P. I've had a Hallman and a Joe P. Joe P is just as easy to adjust, install, etc. Only difference is the Hallman looks more professional. This is an area when you can get away with going cheap. -Matt

Wife bought it for my birthday last year, and its da bomb. Or do we still say that??

anyways, it comes with a low pressure and a high pressure spring. And even the high pressure one is quite easy to adjust. Like 1/2 a turn is one psi.

nice quality build, good research into the developement.

$34 is pretty cheap too. /edit, he went up $5 since last year, but its still a good deal/
