I just picked my girlfriends car up from the dyno. At first I was told there was a boost creep problem. Now, after I started thinking about it, after I ordered the e316g I found out about the flapper upgrade because people were saying they had a boost creep problem. Not worried about it at the time because the car wasnt pushing near the amount of boost it needed to, to run into this problem. Once they got to tuning the car, they ran into another problem, the boost started to tapper off top end, after about 5500 rpms or so, boost would go down, and then up to 18psi, then tapper back immediately. Im wondering if I could just order the upgraded wastegate actuator. If that would fix this problem. I was told the wastegate was being blown open, and then showed by how the boost "waved" at me (just went up and down). Anyway, I was told, the car would have had no problem hitting 320whp without this problem.

As dyno'd, 288.7whp 267.8tq

Well this doesn't sound like boost creep at all, more like a boost leak problem. There are some tests you can do yourself to test their theory on the wastegate.

Disable the actuator completely,(no hose connected) plug up the mbc and test run. Doing this will net you all out boost so feather the throttle to keep it at about 20psi pass 52k to redline.

1. If you're able to boost to redline smoothly, the actuator is ok and the problem is either mbc or boost leak. At this point, you can either perform a boost leak test or do a pull with the mbc bypassed to eliminate either or.

2. If problem persists, perform a leak test. If leak test doesn't fix or pinpoint the problem then their theory on the wastegate being blown open during high boost is probably true.

Good luck.

Its not a leak, I checked it yesterday, FP is kinda dicking me around telling me that my timing belt may be off one tooth, all kinds of bs. Ryan told me that these turbos are world known for not "going out". Im not saying that they are a bad company, and I understand you need to take every warranty claim and think of it as they are trying to get something over on you, but its kinda stupid when they tell you the timing belt may be off one tooth. Then he told me that I ordered the turbo 9 months ago, which is when it was ordered, but I didnt recieve it until 6 weeks after I ordered it. Im going to get Louie from Inline Performance (home of the fastest all motor hatch in Houston) to give them a call next week, and see if we can get this problem fixed. Im tried of messin with them.
