Temperature gauge not working properly

Ok this is kind of hard to explain but I need some suggestions on what the fix to this problem is. At first I notice when I really got on it my temp gauge would fall to cold accordingly then as soon as I let off the gas it would go right back to normal temp. Now it still does this but only now it sometimes falls all the way down to cold and just stays there, then out of no where it will just jump back to normal temp instantly it's weird. Oh and it only fluctuates rapidly between normal temp and cold it never overheats. My only thought is an air pocket of some sort? ya? no? Thanks!

have you checked to see if you have any corrosion on the temp sensor itself? maybe even tried a new one?

also, just a thought... are you running a 1g cam sensor??? I had an erratic when i swapped to a 1g CAS, because of poorly insulated connections, causing a resistance through the Temp sensor and Coil packs..... again, thought a thought...

Why not just replace it with an aftermarket gauge? Problem solved. Stock gauges are not very accurate.

Not sure how fast it is jumping back and fourth, but sounds like your thermostat could be sticking.

Ya a thermostat could definitely be the culprit and i'll check around for the temp sensor probably just get a new one since they're relatively cheap i'll keep it posted thanks

It's a loose connection where the wire connects to the temp sensor for the gauge.

yeah my car is doing the same thing and I know for are it's not the thermostat, iv changed it...like stated When it rises and falls very quick like your saying then it could be the temp sensor gauge sender.I'm going to replace it and I'll let you know

In your case J-money i think you need a new thermostat anyway. and a new AC fan. .
