Neither of my Water temp or oil Pressure Gauges work.. The wires arnt evne there... Was going to pick up 2 new ones from Autozone..

can i put the new sensors where the old ones are and have everything work fine.. It would make things easier then finding new spots..

Thanks,

Shane

There arnt any wires coming from either of the gauges at all.. I was thinking of getting these new ones from autozone.. Cutting the olds ones out of the dash and puting the new ones in... I just want them installed asap.. Dont trust the car without them..

Yea they are aftermarket gauges.. I was just wondering if i could make this install 100x easier by puting the sensors from the aftermarket gauges into the stock ports..

SOMETIMES you can put them in the stock locations. But for the oil pressure gauge you're gonna need an adapter because it wont just screw into the oil filter housing. I dunno about the water temp gauge...I honestly run my oil pressure gauge off the head cause I think it's safer that way. When normal driving it should read 20psi when idling it goes down to 5psi. The way I figure it, if you're gettting oil to the head you're getting oil in the block! But that's just me, I had a head gettting clogged in the oil port and it froze up and jumped timing so I always put an oil pressure gauge there.

Where did you tap in into at the head?

very good idea :aha: but wouldn't someone running a turbo with the oil feed from the oil filter housing want to know what the pressure at idle and cruising is there also? you've got me thinking and I think I will put one in both spots on my car.

Yeah, I always thought you wanted to monitor your turbos oil inlet? to make sure you dont blow your turbo? I could be completely wrong though.

while its true you wanna know what oil pressure is being fed into the turbo, if you're running a stock setup, I dont think its gonna matter man. I dunno if thats the case or not here, but either way, I run my oil pressure gauge right off the head.

THESE are two pics of where my line is run from. I dont really like mechanical gauges, I think they're rediculous to setup and electrical works just as well. But I cheaped out on some sunpro gauges till later down the road because I sold my last GSX with the gauges in it, so this is what I have to work with.

If you're running electrical oil pressure gauge the sender screws right into this port perfectly whether you're using AUTOMETER or PROSPORT.

I'm having trouble with my temp gauge sensor. The only place it will go is where the computer temp sensor is so where can i put it?
