temp gauge question

ok my temp gauge just started to move up and down...the car doresnt over heat or anything but the needle is constantly moving to middle then all the way to the bottom...seems like an electrical problem to me?but im not real sure...if u have any idea let me know please.Thanks.Shawn

This happened to me once when I broke the tab on the temp probe off while playing with my upper i/c pipe. The tab was stuck inside the harness, which was bouncing around the engine bay. Take a look at the temp probe... it's a small one on the back-side of the thermostat housing. The harness is I think maybe 1" long, and 1/4" wide/tall.

ok thanks.i checked the probe and it is still connected but is pretty loose,so thats prolly what it is.thanks for the help man!Shawn
