Temp Gauge gone bad??

I start my car up every morning, even after cold nights, and u know how the the temp gauge is suppose to read C..and then in a few mins it slowly starts moving up where its suppose to be, well mine doesnt even do that. When you start it up, it is already halfway there. Any ideas on what it could be?

I don't think that's the usual behavior when the probe's disconnected, but you may want to check the connection at the temp probe. It's around the gooseneck area... maybe someone will have a pic to point you to it
