im interested in buying coilovers for my 95 gst. the ground control with koni set-up runs about 400 for gc and 600 for konis plus shipping. where as the tein ss set up is about 950 shipped. so the difference is about 100 more for the gc/koni set up. the tein set seems to provide us with everything we'd need (bump stops etc.) not sure about the gc/koni one.

what about ride quality? the gc/koni set up has less adjustability but allows us to choose spring rates. where as the tein set up provides a rate of 503 ft. and 335 rr. and 16 level of dampening adjustments.

my car is a daily driver, i treasure handling/cornering but the roads here tend to be rough, so i need a balance. my pocket cant handle spending more $ on a better set up than the ones stated.

does any one have any recommendations as to why to choose one of the above over the other?

thanks in advance.

I'm in the same boat. GC w/ tokico vs Tein SS
what I was thinking is, what if your Teins blow. where do you get replacement, I know they are rebuildable but where do you send them and what the turn around time is gonna be

koni with gc do get quite some praise and thats why im considering them. anyone sticking up for the tein ss?

I have Ground Controls with GABS. I wouldnt have it any other way. If one blows out....just replace it....that simple. Seperate pieces make life easier IMHO. What happens when the DVD player quits working on your TV/DVD combo? :dsm:

Teins blow even when they're in perfect working order. Took a ride with a buddy who got them, and it's even more a pain in the butt than my B+G/AGX setup, plus he started getting some major handling twitchiness in the twisties. Unreliable body roll on cut-in, unexpected rebound... could have been put on wrong, but I doubt it.

Go for the GC+Koni setup, IMO.

I have tein super streets and dont really see anything wrong with them? adjustability is great, and have never had unexpected rebound before? but then again, i wasnt the one that forked out $1,200 for them.

I have the SS with upper mounts. You couldn't pay me to stick up for them.

So far I have replaced the rears with GC's and AGX's and the ride/handling is 100X better.
