I have been having a problem with an intermittent miss. Never at idle, only when cruising above 2500rpm. So, I popped my hood last night pulled out plug wire #1 and saw arcing at the coil between the 1-4 coil. I replaced the coil with another unit, pulled the wire and it didn't do it again. Went for a drive. Still has a miss. So, I popped the hood again and I looked at the wires more closely and the weird thing is that there are what looks to be little tiny explosions or arcing inside the wire. Since the wires are silicone they have a sort of transparent look to them. I could see the wire light up inside. This is my first set of Taylor Wires ever and didn't know if they were supposed to be doing this or not? If I grab the wire where I see the arc I don't get shocked. So, I don't know if this is a bad thing or what?? Any help or related experience will be appreciated. Thanks

Do you think I am just hearing another noise and what I'm getting is what seems to be a miss? I know I have bad U-joints and carrier bearings that will be replaced next week. Could that be my mystery noise? Really it sounds like a Subaru. Normally don't get the "miss" till it's warmed up.

Thanks

I've had three different sets of Taylors on different vehicles & never had any trouble out of them. Sounds like you've got a bad set of wires there; how old are they? If they're new, you might want to contact Taylor and discuss the problem with them.

Yea they only have 2500 miles on them. I don't think they are bad now. I have a regular set on there from oreilly's and they still do it. I don't know.

Last night I tried a couple other things:

-Put the silencer in the muffler (just to see if I was getting some sort of sound cancelling that would make it sound like a miss) What a power loss!!! Holy Crap!!! WTF

-Pulled the MAS and backed the screw out till it was flush. (Since I'm running rich)

Runs smoother now but it still runs weird.

Ever since I got it put back together it has run very rich. I get about 180 miles per tank.

Logging I get a .92 O2v with no knock @ 15PSI. My fuel trims are at about 80% (all of them). What could make it run so rich? I had a NT FPR on it for a while but that just made it run fatter. I switched it back so now it is all the stock fuel system.

I'm gonna try some Fuel injector cleaner to see if that helps.

I know blocking off the EGR doesn't help MPG either.

I have pulled the ECU multiple times and honestly it looks Brand NEW! Couldn't ask for much better.
