Tape/Cd deck swap.

Will a stock first gen cd player plug right up to a first gen that came with a tape deck stock?

its been a while since ive worked on a 1g for a deck but im pretty sure it will

They should all have the same harness, so try it out. Unless your car had the wired dealer installed cd changer or something like that it should plug right in with out having to wire up much.

On the flip side, you can get a pretty decent deck for $100 these days. If you look around online, you can get a really good discount on some of the higher level units as well. The setup everyone is doing is a cd player that will connect to, and control an I pod. I don't even bother keeping cd's in the car any more besides 1 in the radio its self. That way if they steal your car or radio the get 1 ipod instead of 4-5000$ worth of CD's.

Yea I have a nice premier one in my truck that Im thinking about putting in the car later on but if I can get a plug and play cd player for about the price of a harness and install kit I might as well go ahead and do it for now.
