Talon WAS Running, now a ground problem?

Ok heres the deal, if you look at the post below it'll bring you up to date:

Anyway I finally drove the puppy around the block a few times just to get her rollin, she ran ok considering the amount of problems it has...but heres the deal. A couple of days after I ran her I went to start her up, :CLICK: battery was dead. I took it down to the shop (keep in mind this would be the 3rd battery that has killed on me) they tested it and said the battery was dead.

Got a brand new one, took it home, turn it over...:CLICK: battery died and there is no power to the car..if I come out about 15 minutes later the gauges and lights and crap will work but the car will not turn over. What could possibly be wrong? Its obviously not the alternator cause I don't even run it long enough to drain the battery.

My friend said I could have a bad ground somewhere, which could explain why when I started the car before I'd rev up and my gauges and lights would go brighter.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this POS fired up again I'd appreciate it. Car is really starting to be more trouble than its worth. Oh and I've tried jumping it too to no avail.

Lets see, your lights are dim? Sounds like your alternator are going out, when you rev past 3k im guessing everything gets brighter, and you can really notice it at night huh?

Yeah thats exactly what happens, but how could it be the alternator if the battery is brand new? wouldn't I be able to at least start it and drive it for a hour or so before the battery would get drained.

If your alternator is bad its not maintaining the battery. Starters and whatever else is run direct by the battery use alot of voltage.

I've even tried jump starting it, it just clicks once and its dead. all the power is gone. I've had the alternator go out about 2 years ago and it at least was able to kick over and run for a little while..though that was a REDTOP Optima Battery.

I "was" having the same problem as you. Mine was a bad ground connection going from the battery to the firewall. But i do have a 90 so it might be different. Now i just gotta replace the starter

Battery wont matter when your alternator isnt charging at all, but now since its not turning its not even clicking, thats your starter.....

start the car and unhook the battery if the car dies then the alternator is dead u can also stick a screw driver to the back of the alternator while its running and if it dosent stick to it then its dead.
