Talon in a need for help

Hello,

I do not know much about cars, but I know that I need a faster car. Right now I have completely stock ESi Talon, 96, it has about 220km on it. The car looks like new on the outside, I’ve had it for most of its milage life and I really like it. Would you recommend putting money into this car or would you recommend getting something newer like an EVO or STi. I do make a lot of kilometers and I am worried that if I start playing with engine it may become less reliable or unreliable which is unacceptable. My goal would be to get the same power as EVO or STI so about 300hp.

You need to buy a 1990-1991 eagle talon they are pretty cheap and can put out 300 hp no sweat . Either front wheel drive or awd . You can buy auto or five speed . Just make sure its a turbo . Youll love it. Your esi would take way to much money to go fast compared to a stock 1g with free mods . You can spend between 1500 and 2500 for a talon and have a blast.

STi's... those are sweet cars. I have a non-turbo car, and I know theres not much you can do the 420a engine. I don't think you can do anything to the motor to get it to 300 hp, without turboing it. That could get pricey though. So I'd say go with a turbo charged 1g or 2g as chanley suggested. Good Luck man

Thanks for suggestions guys. I figured that I will not get away without turbo. I would realy love to stay with the same body style as I have right now, so at least year 96. I have a full body kit on the car, and it looks realy nice and it would be real hard to say good bye to that car. I would be willing to sell it and get a Tsi Awd with less kilometers. Are second gens as easy to work with as 1gen?

Yes 2g's are pretty easy to get to 300 hp, but you will have to ugrade the turbo on one because the stock t25 is too small to make that power. But a stock 1g turbo (which is a 14b) or a 16g is all you will need to get to 300 and they are pretty cheep.
