Taboo vacuum hose elimination

Has anyone ever tried doing the "Taboo emission controls and vacuum hose elimination set-up" on a 1G? Just wanted to know how did it turn out and did they run into any problems with the set-up? (the after set-up)

I did it on my car and it runs the same as it did before I did it. No complaints here.

I did the elimination but I just kind of did my own. I eliminated all the lines that are on there first without any problems. Also removed and blocked off the EGR valve as well. Also removed a few other ones and put a catchcan on the valvecover. It's a lot easier once you get your car tore apart and see the actual lines you are eliminating. Clean the engine bay up a lot.

So did u remove all your solenoid valves? and how about the evaporation pipe off the fuel tank?

I removed the fuel pressure regulator lines and whatnot because I have an aftermarket AFPR so no need for them anymore. As far as removing the vent from the fueltank why would you wanna do that? That's a new one to me. Also removed the charcoal canaster.

well im re-doin the fuel lines under the car and i see the evaporation pipe (from fuel tank) beside it, so i was thinking to cut off the evaporation pipe just before the fire wall and add a breather to the end. I know the engine bay will small like gas fumes, but i just wanna have a good lookin engine bay and try to remove the most stuff out of there as i can. Or i may just run the evaporation pipe in to a oil catch can.

Gas fumes in the engine bay with a red hot mani, seems like a good car may catch on fire. Just cut it a bit shorter and run it under the car a bit. You dont want the fumes in the engine bay.


I did the elimination and I love it. Less chance for leaks and it looks a ton better.

I did it too, but I plugged the evap line, only down side to plugging, is everytime you go to fill up and take off the gas cap it just hisses like no other, to release the pressure.

Those that have done it on 1G cars, did you remove the lines from Fuel Pressure Solenoid (with aftermarket AFPR) and just connect AFPR's vacuum line right to the intake manifold?
