So I saved up enough cash for the T28 from forced performance and I had a few questions.

As of now im going to run this turbo on my current mods (DNP headers, Magna flow full exhaust, Greddy Type RS BOV, 272/272 Cams, titanium valve springs, Injen Intake and filter, Boost gauge, MBC). I plan on soon getting 550cc injectors with Apex Safc and walbro fuel pump in the future but as of now Im going to run it with my current mods and my question was is this safe? Also do I need a different actuator or anything else with this turbo charger? Im ordering a new gaskets and maybe the oil return line from FP but anything else, I could use some adivice thanks.:thumb: Also its the FP Big T28

No none of this is safe. You have this many mods including upgraded cams and you aren't even tuned, let alone on the STOCK fuel pump? Before you do anything else, slap in a SAFC and get the thing tuned. I'd suggest new spark plugs (probably 1 range colder) and wires, along with the 550s. As long as you don't push the car hard, you can drive it around, but definitely don't do any spirited driving until it is tuned.

I see you are also venting your BOV, your car would run much better around town if you recirculated it, but I also see your car is automatic. As long as you aren't letting off the gas between shifts it isn't all THAT important.

The actuator should be fine.

No it is not safe. That turbo is comparable to a 16G in flow. You will hit what feels like a brick wall at 4K rpm's when you find fuel cut.

Stay away from the SAfC and 550's, both are only going to limit you. You have a 98 so for $225 you could get a Tactrix Openport 2.0, and Evoscan and tune at least with the stock fuel pump and injectors. #There is no need for the SAFC, nor do you need DSMLink, you have the ECU that is flash supported so take advantage of it. If you get a Wally 190 you don't need the AFPR, go with the 255 and you need a AFPR.
550's are small and limit how much boost you will be able to run. You could actually max out the IDC, go big and tune for them. Go with 800, 950's, or more and it gives you the option to maybe run E85.

I would take your MBC off now and only run WG pressure for now. Like 9/10 psi until you can support the fuel and monitor the AFR.

As long as you keep the boost below 12psi you should be fine..I ran 2 16g's at 12 psi withought fuel cut on stock fuel system..

But I would suggest upgrading the pump, adding a tune(dsmlink), and afpr..

It's also easier I find to install a turbo with the manifold off..Just my 2 cents..

What you ran is not good advice to pass on, just because you ran it and didn't blow up or melt down does not mean that he should. 14psi on a T28 is enough to lean it out to dangerous levels, AND a 16g is not a T-28. The new turbo flows a lot more than the stocker that you most likely had over 12psi, so to be safe keep it low. I don't know if you bought the turbo new or not but it will be SO much fun if you exercise patience now. Keep it as low as you possibly can...
Good luck!

It is not the best advice, correct..But keeping less than 12psi is..That way you don't run into problems like you said..I wouldnt normally reccomend running 12psi on stock equipment, but if that's what he has to do, that's what he has to do....Just keep the boost under 12 and you should be alright..

Tried, and True Pump gas standby for the FP B28.
550cc/660cc Injectors
Rewired 190lph Wally
SAFC 1/ 2/ or Neo

If you install this Turbo before getting the mods listed above, keep it at stock levels. 12 Psi. Don't bother trying to bump it to 14-15 psi, won't feel like much of a difference, it doesn't come alive until 20Psi, and you'll need the mods for that.

The pressure is only part of the story. More important is the flow. The turbo can hold that 12 or 14 psi to a high rpm, at which point the OP is way beyond his fueling ability. That's why it isn't safe.

Ahhh the higher the rpm the more you run out of fuel..I should have known that..I've never went above 6k when I had my 16g's on 12psi..I don't even think I went that high..

SO very true, the T-25 drops off, around 4500 rpm, the FP B28 holds it to redline. My mistake, but then again I didn't go nuts with mine until I had supporting mods in place.
